KUALA LUMPUR: Nike today unveiled the new Malaysia National Team Kit at Majlis Sukan Negara (MSN) which will debut at the eagerly anticipated ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup 2016. The new kit combines cutting edge innovations that help our players to optimize their performance on the pitch.
The design of the home kit embodies Malaysian pride in a whole new way, giving the team kit a facelift by revamping the tigers and modernizing the quintessential stripes. The design features an all-black base, with striking yellow detailing, a first for the national jersey. The away kit also features a change in base colour to white with blue detailing at the sides.
The Home and Away kit sees the introduction of the new Nike Dri-FIT technology with laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players’ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures.
“The game play has evolved over the years, becoming faster and more aggressive. With this in mind, the kit went through a vigorous testing process, taking athletes’ feedback into consideration to deliver a kit that facilitates and promotes high and fast performance,” said Nino Priambodo, Malaysia Country Marketing Manager of Nike.
“While the new kit receives a revamp in its looks, it supports players with the latest Nike innovations in fabric construction, performance technology, and moisture management – all of which are vital for the players’ performance,” he added.
At the launch, Malaysia National Team vice captain, Baddrol Bakhtiar, alongside national footballers, Zaquan Adha, Matthew Davies, and Nazirul Naim donned the new designs in a display of pride and team spirit.
“As athletes, the smallest detail counts especially the lightness and breathability of the jerseys, and with this new kit, the new innovation will help elevate our performance,” says Baddrol Bakthiar.
The new and exclusive Malaysia National Team Kit is priced at RM289 and will be available at all partnering Al-Ikhsan outlets from 16th November 2016.
